Coincides with World Environment Day on 5 June, Center for Climate Change and Disaster (PusPIK) UII with Environmental Engineering UII held an event which invites children from surrounding elementary schools and kindergarten.
At least two hundreds children were participated during the event. They excitedly competed in the drawing and coloring competition which held to commemorate the World Environment Day.
Chief organizer, Ahmad Sabrin told it is the first time that his department and PusPIK UII to hold such event.
“Through this event, we hope can encourage and appeal children to love their environment by doing real action”, Ahmad added.
According to the juries, Nasya Alifta Sani (TKN 1 Sleman) won the first prize, followed by Silvia Khairunnisa (TKIT Sinar Melati), and then Bareta Zahra Farenza (TK ABA Karangharjo) in the coloring contest. While for the drawing competition, first prize was attained by Nasywa Azzah (SD Cempokojajar), followed by Zahra Aisyah (SD Muhammadiyah Pakem), and then Nadinda Anisa Dewi (SDN Gambiranom) as third winner.
